LOCATION - Lat 39°47'33", long 87°22'26" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.35, T.16 N., R.9 W., Parke County, IN, Hydrologic Unit 05120108, on left bank 20 ft upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 36 at Montezuma, 2.0 mi upstream from Big Raccoon Creek, 4.9 mi downstream from Sugar Creek, and at mile 240.0.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1927 to current year. July 1924 to September 1927 (gage height only) in reports of State of Indiana, Department of Natural Resources.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 457.39 feet above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 or 457.75 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (levels by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers). Oct. 1, 1927, to July 12, 1950, nonrecording gage on downstream side of bridge located 50 ft upstream of present bridge and at same datum. July 12, 1950 to July 27, 1988, recording gage in downstream side of first pier from left bank at same datum.
REMARKS - Flow partially regulated by upstream reservoirs.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of March 27, 1913, reached a stage of 34.0 ft, from floodmarks, discharge, 230,000 ft³/s.
